Yi Cheng Hero Elite Buttery Fountain Pen

In 1964 Pilot released a line of pens known as the Elite. If you are old enough to remember 1964, you will recall that this was the year that Tokyo hosted the summer Olympic games. It is hard to express just how important this was to Japan. It was only 20 years after the war, and Japan saw this as their one good chance to reintroduce themselves to the world. A chance to show not only how the politics had changed but also how the industry had matured to one of the world's leaders. Pilot played a big part in the Tokyo Olympics. They were an official sponsor and released The Elite, hoping to show the world it's innovations.

These butterfly fountain pen were modeled after the popular Pilot Elite, where the cap was extra long and the barrel was extra short. When the cap is posted for writing, (length 14.5cm) the pen is a normal sized pen, but when the pen is capped for carrying it telescopes down to a smaller sized (11.2cm), easy to carry pen. This was a huge craze in the late 1960's and early 1970's in Japan. Everyone who knew how to write had to have one of these pens.

Available in three colors of black, white and blue. Its wonderfully crafted buttery patterns cap and barrel is a wonderful present to give you¡¯re your loved ones.
